Worked for 20+ years as a Toyota specialist. Fittingly, he drives a Corolla with 440,000 miles on it. And no, that wasn't a typo. It's also a 5-speed, to boot!
The car in question. It looks and feels like a car with 1/3 the mileage.

My mom and stepdad bought one of those brand new in 2000. It was a trooper. My mom put like 80 miles a day on it and beat the shit out of it the whole time she was driving. It always delivered 30 MPG or better and never had a single issue, until 2004 when my stepdad ran a stop sign and t-boned a Cadillac Eldorado. The Eldorado was able to drive away and the Corolla was totaled. I was sad because I wanted it as my first car. It was beige and boring but it NEVER broke down. And before it was totaled, it was wrecked (minorly) four times. Hit three deer and my mom rear-ended a pickup a week after we bought it. So, it went through three bumper covers and two hoods before my stepdad killed it.
